[134] Colonel John Hopkins was a Colonel in the Militia, Sheriff of the County &
presiding Justice of Goochland County, VA. He owned a considerable amount
of property in the county. His will was probated July 20, 1807. He probably
died a short while before that date. His wife, Mary, survived him at least
until Oct 15, 1819 when she was mentioned in the will of Sparks Martin
